THE MONTH OF AUGUST

August is the eighth month of the year (between July and September) in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and one of seven months with a length of 31 days.

In the Southern Hemisphere, August is the seasonal equivalent of February in the Northern Hemisphere. In many European countries, August is the holiday month for most workers. August is the month with highest birth rate in the United States. August is also regarded as the Harvest month, a month very rich in itself, a month with food, talents, great minds, great people, non-selfish individuals, the qualities are just enormous and it goes on and on and on. Though we may not be in August, it’s good we keep reminiscing of the wonders you carry with people born in this month.

We are the Lions, fearless, bold, attention seekers, loyal, we love to be listened to, we rule, we are termed the Leos, many great people including Marcus Gravey were born in this month. Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Jr., ONH (17 August 1887 – 10 June 1940), was a Jamaican political leader, publisher, journalist, entrepreneur, and orator who was a proponent of the Pan-Africanism movement, to which end he founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League (UNIA-ACL). He also founded the Black Star Line, a shipping and passenger line which promoted the return of the African diaspora to their ancestral lands. He alone could rise against racism and the unfair treatment against blacks.

The month of August is dominated by the zodiac sign, Leo, with the last few days falling under Virgo. These are great individuals, crazy, annoying, adventurous and romantic

I am proud of this month because it is undoubted it’s the best month, great things happen this month, from holidays, food, child birth etc. If you were born on August and these character and traits are not part of you naturally then you mistakenly fell in this month. However, if you were not born in August then please go back to your mother’s womb to be born again.
